Free Film at the Figge Fall 2025 Mini Series


With only two Thursdays available this fall for the film program, Free Film at the Figge presents two films celebrating diversity, culture, and family on October 30 and November 13. 

The Figge will return with a full series of distinguished, award-winning films in spring 2026

 

Free Film at the Figge is a Thursdays at the Figge program.

This spring,  Free Film at the Figge  presents a selection of distinguished, award-winning films, showcasing the best in provocative, suspenseful filmmaking set against the backdrop of authoritarian fascism. On Thursday, May 7th at 6 p.m.  The Zone of Interest   (U.K./Poland/France / 2023) will screen.  Based on a true story, Rudolf Höss, the commandant of Auschwitz, and his wife, Hedwig, build a life for their family in a house next to the concentration camp he helped create. Documentary "From Iowa & Back" screens at DeWitt Opera House June 14

The award-winning documentary From Iowa & Back: The Vietnam Era will show at the DeWitt Opera House   716 6th Ave, DeWitt, IA   on June 14, 2026, at 2:00 PM.   This is a free to the public screening sponsored by American Legion Post 238 and Michelle and Steven Martens. This is the 4th showing in Iowa-by-Iowa filmmaker Jeremy Glazier. From Iowa and Back: The Vietnam Era  explores the untold stories of Iowans who served during the Vietnam era. This deeply personal documentary focuses on the lives of those veterans, from their small-town roots to the challenges of war and life after.
